Direct Marketing Association
Founded in 1917, the Direct Marketing Association (DMA) is today the
largest trade association for businesses interested in direct,
database, and interactive global marketing, with about 5,200 member
companies from the United States and 44 foreign nations on six
continents. The DMA shapes the way that organizations apply direct/interactive
marketing methods to all marketing, sales and customer service
activity. Our mission is to encourage the education, growth and
profitability of our members and their adherence to high ethical
standards.
Email Service Provider Coalition (ESPC)
The Email Service Provider Coalition (ESPC) is a cooperative group of
industry leaders working to create solutions to the continued
proliferation of spam and the emerging problem of deliverability. Our
membership provides volume mail delivery services to an estimated
250,000 clients - representing the full breadth of the U.S.
marketplace. The ESPC is currently working on solutions to spam and
deliverability concerns through a combination of legislative advocacy,
technological development, and industry standards.
Email Experience Council (EEC)
The EEC is a global professional organization that strives to enhance
the image of email marketing and communications, while celebrating and
actively advocating its critical importance in business, and its ROI
value. The EEC are committed to regularly conducting a broad series of
email initiatives for a variety of organizations that highlight the
positive impact and importance of email as a marketing tool,
communications vehicle and branding device. Additionally, EEC members
are setting the standards for email through our Marketing Roundtables.
eMarketing Association
The eMarketing Association (eMA) is the international association of
individual marketers, companies and governments committed to the
advancement of marketing in the digital era. The eMA provides
resources, certifications, educational programs and events to its
members and the marketing community. As the largest association of
eMarketers in the world, the eMA is committed to enriching our members
through recognition, research, advocacy, education and service.
Federal Communications Commission
The
Federal Communications Commission (FCC) is an independent United States
government agency, directly responsible to Congress. The FCC was
established by the Communications Act of 1934 and is charged with
regulating interstate and international communications by radio,
television, wire, satellite and cable. The FCC's jurisdiction covers
the 50 states, the District of Columbia, and U.S. possessions.
Federal Trade Commission

Trade Commission's website. The Federal Trade Commission (FTC) was
created in 1914 to prevent unfair methods of competition in commerce.
Since then, the Commission also has been directed to administer a wide
variety of other consumer protection laws, and in 1975, Congress gave
the FTC authority to adopt trade regulation rules that define unfair or
deceptive acts in particular industries.

EPIC is a public interest research center in Washington, D.C. It was
established in 1994 to focus public attention on emerging civil
liberties issues and to protect privacy, the First Amendment, and
constitutional values.
SpamCon Foundation
The SpamCon Foundation protects email as a viable communication and
commerce medium by supporting measures to reduce the amount of
unsolicited email that crosses private networks, while ensuring that
valid email reaches its destination.
