System Upgrade Completed January 1, 2010, Problems discovered with Road Runner connections. A common problem we have discover today is with Time Warner Cable / Road Runner customers. This issue is that the Road Runner DNS is very slow to be updated. Sometimes their DNS can take as long as two days before the DNS cache records are updated. If you are a Road Runner customer and you are using Road Runner's default DNS to remedy this problem, a first options is to change the Server Address in your Polycom phone. Change your Server Address to sip.us48.net. A second option is to change your router's DNS to a more reliable DNS. We recommend using Level 3 Communications DNS servers:
Complete setup instructions for Polycom SoundPoint IP based phones can be found at this http://www.carolinadigitalphone.com/Polycom-IP-Phone-Setup-Jan-2010.pdf. Then, it will be necessary that you reboot your telephone before they will work properly. You can reboot your phone by either un-pluging the phone from the power outlet and plug it back in, or press the reboot phone sequence for your phone.
Thank you for your continued business at Carolina Digital Phone, ![]() | |
